She attended Virginia State University for undergrad, where she majored in Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance with a double minor in Health Sciences and Public Health. Zenniah then went on and attended the University of District of Columbia, where she earned a Masters degree in Urban Education with a Science concentration.

Currently, Zenniah serves as a DCPS Private Tutor, while working as a DC Metro affiliate for the Higher Achievement Program (Ward 7) and part time Adjunct Professor of Trinity Washington University’s Advance Technical Center program. She possesses 8+ years in the DCPS and DCPCS system, serving as a Biology teacher, Health and Physical Education teacher and Innovations lab instructor. Zenniah has serviced all grade levels including students of adaptive learning, ranging from Pre-k through 12th. Her favorite subjects are Science and Health. She also enjoys Yoga, Boxing, Reading, growing plants, making candles and working with youth.

As a former Educator, through her time in the classroom, Zenniah realized the large gap in opportunities and academic progression that children of all ages had experienced. It became clear to her how some of the trusted systems that were set in place to guide our youth on a path to success, were subjective and limited, especially in the underserved communities of the District. Upon making a tough decision to resign from the school system, this birthed a new vision of Zenniah’s purpose, The BLACC House (Building Legacies and Cultural Connections). The calling to create a space, a nurturing environment where students are exposed to a holistic practice of skills that promote an optimal lifestyle, cultivated with unlimited avenues of curriculum and career exposure to further assist students with building confidence in their social and intellectual abilities, was loud and clear.

“There is no limit to what we can do or achieve. Despite our hardships, despite what they tell us, we are limitless beings. We always have been and we always will be.” Zenniah Davis

Monera’s dedication to The BLACC House is driven by her profound commitment to helping students reach their highest level personally, academically, and professionally by exposing them to a holistic approach to learning. While teaching in the school system, she noticed that many students are not offered non-traditional courses that are necessary for adolescence and adulthood. Many students are not prepared with skills such as financial literacy, emotional intelligence, career readiness and health and wellness education. There is a huge need for these services in our community and that’s where The BLACC House will step in to meet students where they are, expand their knowledge, curiosity and equip them with essential life skills to successfully navigate through their journey.
